Overview & Highlights

Perched along the stunning Lungomare Mario Martinez in Capo Mulini, Ristorante La Prua offers a quintessential Sicilian seafood dining experience that captures the very essence of the Mediterranean. This charming restaurant specializes in fresh, locally sourced fish and shellfish prepared through traditional Sicilian techniques, making it a must-visit destination for seafood aficionados and travelers alike.

From the moment you settle in with a view of the gentle waves lapping nearby, the ambience at La Prua is both cozy and vibrant. The natural light bouncing off the sea lends a bright and refreshing atmosphere, while inside, the restaurant's warm hospitality instantly makes you feel at home. It's the kind of place where you can leisurely savor your meal while taking in the sound of the sea—something that guests consistently rave about.

The menu showcases some exquisite seafood delicacies that are both authentic and affordably priced. Start your culinary journey with the Carpaccio di Cernia alle Mandorle, a delicate raw fillet of grouper elegantly garnished with almonds and fragrant olive oil, delivering a subtle crunch and a fresh, lemony finish. The antipasti selection is a standout, with the Gamberetto Marinato offering tender marinated shrimp kissed with zesty lemon and chili, perfectly balanced by the richness of extra virgin olive oil. For those who love variety, the signature La Prua tasting—ten beautifully curated seafood courses—provides an unforgettable, multifaceted exploration of flavors for just €19.

Main courses, like the warm Risotto Frutti di Mare and the house specialty Zuppa di Cozze, showcase the kitchen's mastery in coaxing deep, comforting flavor from the freshest ingredients. Pasta lovers will appreciate the Frutti di Mare e Zucchini Tagliatelle — a harmonious dish where tender seafood meets vibrant, crisp zucchini, creating a perfect al dente bite. Side dishes such as well-seasoned Patate al Forno and colorful Verdure Grigliate complement the seafood impeccably, rounding out your meal with textures and tastes that celebrate the land and sea.

As echoed by diners, the portions are generous without being overwhelming, and prices remain fair, offering excellent value for a seaside dining experience that feels both authentic and indulgent. Service is friendly and attentive—owners like Puccio have been noted for going the extra mile, even opening early to welcome guests, which reflects the genuine passion behind the restaurant.

Some guests have noted that on busy nights multiple dishes may arrive simultaneously, so perhaps relish the enthusiasm but take your time savoring each course in turn. The view of the sea, unobstructed and calming, is one of La Prua’s greatest assets, turning every meal into a leisurely celebration of Sicilian culture and cuisine.

Whether you’re stopping on the way to the airport or settling in for a relaxed evening, Ristorante La Prua leaves a lasting impression with its vibrant seafood, enchanting atmosphere, and heartfelt service. If you find yourself in Capo Mulini, missing this gem would truly be a disservice to your palate.

Only planned a coffee stop on the way to the airport but this looked too good to miss, rather than buying food at the airport. Excellent seafood. I had Sarde a beccafico followed by risotto fruiti di mare risotto and Grace had Zuppa di cozze followed by fruiti di mare e zucchini Tagliatelle. With deserts and coffees came to a very reasonable €80 for the two of us.

I wasn't sure at first but clearly this restaurant is a big fan with the locals and my pasta was so delicious I wiped the plate clean. Highly recommended.

It was 18:15 ...too early for "local Italian dinner time"...and we got turmed down from most places...but Puccio, the owner of this restaurant, opened the place especially for us with a big smile An amazing variety of fresh fish cooked in the traditional Sicilian way. Top quality. Generous portions and fair price. Best view ever. Right on the sea... listening to the waves... Highly recommended... I am from the South of Italy. This restaurant is real good authentic stuff. Not a tourist trap....Thanks Puccio. LOVE LA PRUA. We'll be back.

The food was excellent and the atmosphere cozy! I'd suggest serving fewer plates at a time though. We ordered 8 dishes for two, and they all arrived at once, leaving no space on our small table.

Very nice restaurant, next to the sea. Calm but very bright restaurant, I would prefer to have dimmed the lights outside. The food was good with big portions. The view is superb. I recommend you to go around 20:00 to find a table otherwise after 21:00 you definitely need a reservation. We had fish salad and ravioli.

Very good service, lovely view, good prices. Didn’t like involtini at all- the mince wasn’t mixed well and I couldn’t eat it because it was too salty. The pistachiatta was delightful though.

Ive had food all over the world, and the seafood here is as good as it gets. Excellent views, service, price and atmosphere.
